Allegan was a blast. When you arrive at the fairground entrance, a giant chicken is there to greet you.
Animaniacs fans will appreciate that I had to sing the “Chicken Boo” theme song every single time we drove past the chicken.
It took us a while to set up the tent and booth in such a way that we could get the zippers closed, but we’ll file that under “learning experience” and it will take much less time in the future since we know what we’re doing now. We finished setting up about 3 minutes before the fairground closed Thursday night.
Friday morning we were back. Look! I have a tent!
While I was taking pictures my friend Becky came along and asked if I wanted her to take my picture so I could stand in my tent and “go like this.” So I did.
And while there weren’t any dragonflies around, look who visited the tent one morning.
Other observations: camels are really big. Way taller than I had realized. No pics of the camel though. Sorry.
Also, angora bunnies, sheep, goats, alpacas and llamas are all so cute that I feel compelled to tell every single one of them how cute they are.
It was a good show. Sales were good, I ran into lots of friends, met lots of new people, and petted lots of sheep. What more could I ask for?
And tomorrow morning we leave for STITCHES Midwest in Schaumburg, IL where I’ll get to meet up with more friends! There probably won’t be any sheep there, but I’m sure there will be something interesting! I’m in booth 228 so come see me if you’re there!
