Railroad spike

To the tune of Ben Folds’ “Brick,” more or less

5:45
my head is throbbing
I should go and take a pill
but I can’t move
’cause it’s too early
I’m paralyzed by grogginess still

5:48
I’m sitting up now
the pain is worse, sit still a while
5:52
I’m slowly standing
get my robe so I don’t get a chill

railroad spike in my eyeball stabbing
wait, now I’m feeling nauseous too
railroad spike in my eyeball stabbing…

I feel my way
downstairs in darkness
reach the kitchen in the dark
I turn the light on just a little
grateful for the dimmer switch

Turn on the tap
get some warm water
get the pills down off the shelf
pill in my mouth
mouth full of water
chew the awful horrible drug

railroad spike in my eyeball stabbing
wait, now I’m feeling nauseous too
railroad spike in my eyeball stabbing…

sit on the couch
try to relax now
wait and see if it will work
sometimes it does
sometimes it doesn’t
no rhyme or reason I have found

railroad spike in my eyeball stabbing
wait, now I’m feeling nauseous too
railroad spike in my eyeball stabbing
why must you afflict me so?

My poor darling Riin, i wish there was something i could do for you. If i could take that migrain out of your head and put it in mine i would in a second.
