The Plantiness

It’s finally been warm enough to work in my garden.  It’s really spring!  Yay!  (Am I the only one who pictures Kermit the Frog waving his arms around whenever I say “Yay!”?)

My hellebores are blooming.

I think they’re so gorgeous.  And the pulmonaria is just starting to bloom.

The flowers are a little blurry here because they were moving in the breeze.  But look at all those buds!

And I’m going to have so many raspberries this year!

I won’t show you the 12,000 maple seedlings I’ve pulled out.  Ok, maybe not that many, but definitely several hundred, and they’re still coming up.  Maple trees really, really want to reproduce.  I just don’t have room in my garden for an entire forest.  At least they’re easy to pull when they’re still just seedlings.  And I actually like pulling weeds.  It’s meditative.

As far as what else is new, I’ve gotten a lot of work done on the Fairy Yarnmother site, but there’s still a lot more to do.  I’m happy with what there is so far though.

I have to get a crown on one of my molars, which I was suspecting.  I’ve got a temporary crown on now.  It came off this morning.  My dentist said if it came off to stick it back on with a dab of toothpaste.  So I did that, but when the toothpaste touched my unprotected tooth, OW OW OW OW!  So I’ve got the crown back on now, but…ow.

I haven’t been getting migraines so bad in the past week.  Either the gluten free diet is starting to work, or I’m feeling less stressed (I get to do geeky cool fun stuff in my new position, and it is really nice not to be responsible for timesheets and schedules and all of that stuff anymore), or Havi’s idea of talking to the pain made a difference.  Or any combination thereof.  Whatever.  I’ll take it!
